"Fool on Fleck" is the nineteenth episode of the third season and the fifty-ninth overall of LEGO City Adventures. It first aired on June 18, 2021 in Canada.
Synopsis[]
When the mysterious Prankster mails Mayor Fleck a threat to prank him in public, Carol asks Duke to be the reluctant mayor’s bodyguard.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Mayor Fleck giving Mr. Producé an award for years of giving healthy food to the public, contributing to the health of the city on camera. However, as he walks away, he accidentally slips on some fruit and the accident gets televised. Gabby ToCamera remotely interviews newly-elected Councilperson Richard Momentous, who takes the opportunity to talk down on Fleck in an attempt to drum up support for himself as mayor, which annoys Carol Yea from the mayor's office.
Mayor Fleck, nonetheless, seems unfazed as he finds a new proposal on his desk: a proposal for a day called "Fooled Ya!" Day, dedicated solely to pranks and silliness. Fleck does not want to sign this, but Carol's daughter Madison, who is visiting the office as part of her school's field trip, decides otherwise. Carol then gets a message from an identity known as "The Prankster", who threatens to pull a large, humiliating prank on Mayor Fleck if he decides not to sign the proposal for "Fooled Ya!" day. Taking extra precautions, Carol hires officer Duke DeTain to follow Fleck around, ensuring no one tries any funny business on him. Though Fleck is hesitant, he allows DeTain to follow him.
Fleck's first activity for the day is taking a photo with Little Hubert outside of his factory with a pie, though before the picture is taken, DeTain jumps in the way, thinking that Hubert was planning on splatting the pie at Fleck's face. Ironically, the pie ends up at his face anyway, and the embarrassing accident is still televised. Fleck's second activity for the day is to shake all the hands of people... at the joke shop. However, DeTain shakes them all first, making sure nobody's hands had joy buzzers.
Upon arrival back at the office, another interview with Momentous shows him again talking down on Fleck for supposedly not taking his duty as mayor seriously while talking of himself highly for the position. Fleck and DeTain apologize to each other for not letting the other do their job and trusting them. Fleck then discovers that the proposal for "Fooled Ya!" day has no sponsor, and DeTain concludes that the prank is the day itself. Carol considers cancelling the signing ceremony, but DeTain says it might be the only way to flush out the Prankster.
Later, at the signing ceremony, Fleck pretends to sign the proposal. Momentous then gloats about how the proposal was actually fake and the mayor supposedly did not see it coming, but Fleck reveals he merely drew a silly face. DeTain realizes that since Momentous knew the proposal was not real, he is the Prankster and the one snuck it onto the mayor's desk. As an exasperated Momentous absorbs that his plan to humiliate Fleck failed, the mayor himself found it to be fun and proposes there actually be a "Fooled Ya!" day, since he already has the paperwork. Everyone except for Momentous celebrates, and the episode ends with an enraged Momentous walking out of City Courthouse, only to have an embarrassing accident himself as he faceplants into one of Little Hubert's pies and gets his head stuck in a toilet lid.
